nRF Kconfig

Nordic Semiconductor’s nRF Kconfig extends the nRF Connect for VS Code extension to provide support for the Kconfig language in VS Code and an intuitive GUI for the Kconfig structure. This allows you to easily search through and control the Kconfig options in your projects.

Note: This extension requires the nRF Connect for VS Code extension to work. When you install this extension, nRF Connect for VS Code is automatically installed as well.

Manage Kconfig options for your build

nRF Kconfig features a GUI that displays your project's Kconfig options from your .conf source files in a treeview menu. From the GUI, you can enable or disable nodes, edit the option values, and navigate through your search history made within the GUI, as well as apply changes to your source .conf files or your build's .config file.

The extension also offers a variety of improvements for the Kconfig language, configuration files, and C files such as:

• Syntax highlighting and autocompletion
• Linting, including type checking for configuration values, dependency checking, and more
• Breadcrumbs navigation
• Code Actions, such as add missing dependencies and remove redundant entries
