About Leaf: Notepad & To-Do List
A fast, simple notepad for Chrome: quick notes, to-do lists and a kanban board in your toolbar or side panel. Offline, no sign up.
Leaf is a beautifully made notepad for Chrome. Quick notes, to-do lists and checklists, one click away in your toolbar or open beside you in the side panel. No account, no setup. It works offline, and it stays fast however much you keep.
Kept by more than 35,000 people every week, since 2017.
Made for the thought you're about to lose Click the leaf and write. Leaf saves every word as you type, so a half finished idea waits exactly where you left it. Like a sticky note on your desk, only it never falls off.
Writing that tidies itself Type [ ] for a checklist, a dash for a list, # for a heading. Leaf understands markdown and formats as you go, so the symbols fade away and only clean, readable notes remain.
Right beside your work Keep Leaf open in Chrome's side panel, next to whatever you're reading, writing or planning. When a note needs room, give Leaf its own tab.
Your notes, your way Read them as a list, spread them out as cards, or sort them on a kanban board, where every label becomes a column you can drag your to-dos across. Colour labels, Ctrl+K to find anything, light and dark themes, and a Trash that keeps whatever you delete for 30 days.
Watch your thoughts grow Tree view turns your notepad into a living tree. Every note is a leaf, coloured by its label, the oldest near the trunk and the newest at the tips. Press play and watch months of thinking grow in. No two trees are alike.
Quick with thousands of notes Leaf opens in an instant and stays smooth with years of notes, even on older computers.
Private by design Your notes live on your computer and work without a connection. No ads, no AI built in, and your notes are never used to train AI. Leaf sends anonymous error reports, never your notes, and you can turn them off in Settings. Export everything to a single file whenever you like.
Leaf Pro For when you want Leaf everywhere: sync across your computers, Leaf on your phone, more notepads and labels, #hashtags, longer version history and more tree styles. Everything above is free.
Already using Leaf? Every note came with you, exactly where you left it.

Covers every Chrome Web Store extension with at least 100 users, found through the store's public sitemap. User counts are read from public listing pages. The 10% most-used extensions are refreshed daily, the next 40% weekly and the next 40% monthly; the least-used 10% are not refreshed. Google displays rounded user counts (and caps the display at 10,000,000+), so small changes may not be visible. Rating counts above 1,000 are rounded (e.g. 1.6K).
