About Gmail Unread Count Badge
Unread count badge for the Gmail icon
Show your Gmail unread count as a badge on the Gmail icon!
Setup –––––
- Install the extension.
- Add Gmail as an app: 👉 ⠇ Menu → More Tools → Create Shortcut... ℹ️ Make sure to select "open as window" 🛟 Guide: https://support.google.com/chrome_webstore/answer/3060053

How it Works ––––––––––– This is an optimized fork of the "Gmail app badge notification" extension that uses no CPU or bandwidth.
Instead of polling your Gmail inbox RSS feed, this version of the extension injects a tiny script into Gmail. Gmail already shows unread count in its window title. This extension detects when Gmail updates its title, then grabs the unread count and shows it as a badge on Gmail's icon. It's fast, reliable, and efficient!

Covers every Chrome Web Store extension with at least 100 users, found through the store's public sitemap. User counts are read from public listing pages. The 10% most-used extensions are refreshed daily, the next 40% weekly and the next 40% monthly; the least-used 10% are not refreshed. Google displays rounded user counts (and caps the display at 10,000,000+), so small changes may not be visible. Rating counts above 1,000 are rounded (e.g. 1.6K).
