This plugin generates a proficiency level based on how you actually work with your IDE and lets you share it directly on your LinkedIn profile.

How to get started

Once installed, the plugin starts observing how you use your IDE locally. A LinkedIn icon appears in the status bar at the bottom of your IDE window. Click the status bar icon to open a popup that displays your current proficiency level.

Sharing your proficiency to LinkedIn

• Click the LinkedIn icon in the status bar to open the plugin popup. • Click the "Connect to LinkedIn" button. • If you are not yet logged in, a browser window will open asking you to authorize the plugin with your LinkedIn account. Complete the authorization flow in the browser. • Your proficiency will be automatically shared to LinkedIn as soon as you get a new level, and you can see it under your connected apps.

Leveling up

Your proficiency level updates automatically as you use more IDE features. When your level increases, the status bar widget reflects the change.

Requirements

• A JetBrains IDE version 2025.3 or later. • A LinkedIn account to share your proficiency level. • A JetBrains account to link to your LinkedIn account.

Privacy

The plugin uses OAuth to securely authenticate with LinkedIn. The plugin never stores your LinkedIn credentials — only access and refresh tokens are kept in the IDE's secure credential store. The plugin communicates with LinkedIn's API solely to create or update your proficiency level.
