About Smart Step-Into for Microservice Debugging

Provides Smart Step-Into action in JVM debugger that automatically steps into web service implementation that handles HTTP request. Also, enables debug action for requests from HTTP Client of IntelliJ IDEA.

How to try:

• Run all services with debugger attached • Stop on code that will send HTTP request, e.g. Spring Feign Client method call • Use Smart Step-Into action (Shift-F7) • Debugger will stop in web service implementation and navigate you to the request handler

Supported frameworks:

• Spring MVC • Spring WebClient • Spring Feign Client • Micronaut HTTP Server • Micronaut HTTP Client

Note: provides more accurate navigation when Spring Boot Actuator is enabled.
